On August 23, the “2018 China Banking Industry Development Forum and the 6th Banking Industry Comprehensive Awards Ceremony” hosted by Sina Finance, was held in Beijing. Agricultural Development Bank of China (ADBC) was awarded “Best Policy Bank of the Year” and was the only winner among the three policy banks.

In 2017, ADBC resolutely implemented the decisions and deployments of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, earnestly performed the functions of a policy bank, and enhanced its support for the key areas and weak links of “agriculture, rural areas and farmers” as well as for the poverty-stricken areas. The total value of the loans disbursed by the bank in 2017 amounted to RMB 1.56 trillion. The bank earnestly implemented targeted poverty alleviation and elimination strategies, focuses on places in deep poverty such as “three districts and three prefectures” and disbursed targeted poverty alleviation loans with a total value of RMB 512 billion, acting as the pillar and backbone in the rural financial system. ADBC’s achievements in the past year were highly recognized by all walks of life and as a result, the bank won the “Best Policy Bank of the Year” Award.

The “Banking Industry Comprehensive Awards” organized by Sina Finance started in 2013 and is held once a year to recognize financial institutions or individuals for their outstanding contributions to the industry over the past year. The selection process adopts a combination of online vote, third-party research and expert review. Winners of awards will be selected after the initial evaluation, re-evaluation, review, and final evaluation.
